The consumer price index (CPI) of Vietnam, which measures changes in the prices paid by consumers for a basket of goods and services, rose 3.2 percent on year in the first four months of this year, the country's National Statistics Office said on Tuesday.

The CPI in April increased 0.07 percent compared to the previous month and 3.12 percent year-on-year.

Price hikes last month were reported in eight out of the 11 items in the calculation basket.

Increasing housing, construction materials and electricity prices contributed the most to the CPI rise.

In the first four months of 2025, Vietnam's average core inflation increased by 3.05 percent year on year, said the office.
