According to National Bureau of Statistics, at the end of 2022, China’s silk industry enterprises above designated scale totaled 587, 28 fewer than in 2021, experiencing a decline for nine consecutive years. Among these enterprises, the number of silk processing enterprises for silk spinning and weaving, silk reeling, and silk printing, dyeing and finishing was 280, 224 and 55 respectively.
