The Biggest High-quality Organic Silk Production Base in China
Located in dry-hot valley of Jinshajiang, Ningnan County has become a main high-quality sericulture district due to the suitable climate and good natural conditions, of which annual average temperature is 19.3℃ and the sunshine hours can be 2258 throughout the year, that’s why the sericultrial experts have praised it as “treasure land for developing sericulture”. There have been 5 indicators “the quality of cocoons, total yield of cocoons, per unit yield of cocoons, cocoon yield of per unit silkworm raisers and income of the raisers” of the county stably ranking first in Sichun Province, among which the three indicators “the quality of cocoons, per unit yield of cocoons and cocoon yield of per unit silkworm raisers ” have ranked first in the country. As of 2021, the county annually raised 319000 pieces of silkworms, produced 147000 tons of cocoons and 1100 tons of 6A grade raw silk, with a total of 16666 hectares of mulberry fields.
The whole quality processes have been well controlled by Nan Si Lu on the mode of “unified planting, unified breeding, unified collection and processing, unified sales” . The specific aspects are as follows:

Mulberry field fertilization: uses decomposed silkworm excrement as farm fertilizer;

Pest control of mulberry trees: uses insect trap lamps, food attractants, sex attractants, etc. for biological control;

Disinfection: uses lime and other environmentally friendly disinfectant drugs;

Production: It collects cocoons by different seasons and places with classified storage, processing and sales. Moreover, to ensure the products meet organic standards, it has developed specialized production standard - label organic cocoons, hang signs and process independently, and strictly control all the processing links.

Link supervision: relies on the intelligent system to realize fine control for the entire link to ensure the high quality of organic silk.
Up to now, Nan Si Lu has an organic production base of 5583 hectares, with an annual output of 1572 tons of organic cocoons (dry cocoons) and more than 500 tons of organic silk.
