Established in July 1987, Jiangsu Silk Association is the first voluntary non-profit social intermediary organization composed of cocoon & silk enterprises, research institutes and industrial professionals within Jiangsu Province, involving agriculture, industry, trade and culture. Owning from the original 61 director units to nowadays’ 300-odd member units all over the province’s cocoon & silk industry chain, the association has always adhered to CPC’s leadership, given full play to the role of industry intermediary organizations in “contacting the government and serving enterprises”, and promoted the technological progress, structural adjustment and industrial upgrading of the cocoon & silk industry in Jiangsu Province.
Relying on Jiangsu SOHO Holdings Group Co.,Ltd., the association has always hold innovation, quality, and efficiency as the industry’s developing goal, actively organized industrial research, exchanged marketing information, forecast the industry situation, promoted advanced technologies, scientific management experience, cultivated specialized management and technical personnel, and strengthen exchange and cooperation with other provinces’ associations and enterprises.
There are 7 professional committees and one magazine “Jiangsu Silk”under Jiangsu Silk Association, among which, “Jiangsu Silk Expert Committee”has concentrated the country’s well-known experts of cocoon & silk industry, undertaking the industry’s technological innovation and knowledge updating of the whole province; the “Jiangsu Silk” magazine is the country’s earliest professional provincial journal, which has been published 274 issues at present.
Jiangsu Silk Association is the managing director unit of China Textile Industry Federation and the director unit of China Textile Commerce Association. From 2020 to 2021, it has won the title of “Advanced Collective of National Cocoon & Silk Industry Association” awarded by the China Silk Association for two consecutive years.
