Zhejiang Silk Association, established in Feb. 1992, is a provincial non-profit social organization across agriculture, industry, trade, research, education, and other fields, aiming at improving the internal coordination, safeguarding members’ legitimate rights and interests and promoting the sustainable and stable development of the industry, under the Constitution, laws, regulations and national policies. At present, it totally has 116 member units covering the whole industrial chain of cocoon and silk.
Since its inception, under the guidance and help of relevant government departments, the resources of member enterprises and professional and technical experts, the Association has mainly carried out the province's silk industry development survey, industry operation monitoring, industrial situation analysis, standard publicity, achievement release, technical exchanges, quality control training and other activities; given full play to its communication bridge role between government and enterprises to provide suggestions for relevant government departments, put forward industry development plans, structural adjustment, structural reform and other programs; conveyed government guidelines and policies to members; cooperated with the China Silk Association to carry out national industry activities, and strengthen exchanges and cooperation with industry organizations and enterprises in other provinces and cities.
In order to establish an information exchange channel for the whole silk industry, the Association has created WeChat official accounts of “Zhejiang Silk Association” and the internal electronic journals of “Zhejiang Silk Information”. And also it has participated in the compilation of the “China Silk Yearbook” and the “Zhejiang Yearbook”.
In the past three years, the Association has won the honor of “2020 National Cocoon & Silk Industry Association Advanced Collective” and other honors awarded by the China Silk Association, and was hired as the chairman of the fourth presidium of the Zhejiang Provincial Federation of Industrial Economics. What’s more, it has been a member unit of the “Zhejiang Provincial Group Standard Development Alliance”, a governing unit of the “Zhejiang Brand Construction Federation” and a leading unit of the group standard “Made in Zhejiang” .
