ReturnMultilingual versions of Shenzhen Government Online (http://www.sz.gov.cn/en/index.html) were officially launched on Monday, as Shenzhen strives to improve its government services and create an internationalized business environment for global enterprises and entrepreneurs.
The website will offer various news and information in different languages, including English, French, Japanese and Korean.
"It signifies that a new platform for the sharing of government foreign-related information and 'one-stop' foreign-related government services has been built," Liu Jiachen, head of the Government Services Data Management Bureau of Shenzhen Municipality, said at the launch ceremony in Shenzhen on Monday.
"With rich information, a distinctive Chinese perspective and broad world vision, the multilingual versions of Shenzhen Government Online not only tell Shenzhen's and China's stories, but also spread the voice of China, thus letting the world know about a real, broad-visioned and comprehensive Shenzhen and allowing all to listen to the voice of Shenzhen and China."
According to Liu, there are more than 30,000 foreigners currently working and living in Shenzhen. "To better integrate into the city, they urgently need to learn about all aspects of Shenzhen's development," she said.
Before the launch of the multilingual website, Shenzhen Government Online only had an English version, which was introduced in 2006.
The website now has nine channels with more than 30 main columns, including investment, life guide, tourism, law and administration services, with more than 30,000 daily visits on average, and a total translation volume of more than 2 million words.
