According to China’s customs statistics, pure silk product exports from China registering 1364 million USD, 28% decrease compared to the same period of 2008, among which silk class exports 234 million USD ,down by 28.42%;silk satin exports 353 million USD, which falls 10.6%; silk fabric exports 775 million USD,19.71% decrease.
China silk export product shows a sharp fall in leading export markets, except for India.
China’s silk product exports to the following countries: USA, India, Japan, Italy and Hongkong in descending order, among which, USA accounts for a quarter.
In leading export market, China achieved a growth of 10.62% in India, the rest was down by 20%, especially in Italy the decline rate was 33.53%.
The export from the main provinces and municipalities dropped across the board.
The main export provinces and municipalities followed by: Zhejiang, Jiangsu, Guangdong, Shanghai, Si chuan, the total export value is 88.06% in China pure silk product share.
Zhejiang exports 580 million USD, which occupies as high as 42.57%, leaving the others behind. Among the five provinces and municipalities, the largest decline is Jiangsu, down by 25.49%; the smallest decrease is Sichuan, 5.97% decrease.
