In the first trading week following the lunar new year holidays, CCSE electronic market showed a post-holiday rebound. March Raw Silk and Dried Cocoon closed 177300 yuan and 56000 yuan per ton respectively with decreased contract volume due to liquidation actions from both sides, and meantime the trading of back months showed more active signs.
According to export analysis, last China’s snowy and icy storm give little effect on current mulberry tree growth but will delay Guangxi’s spring cocoon harvest about two weeks.
20th China Silk Trade Fair will be held From Feb. 23 to 25 in Shanghai. The electronic market seemed to be little influenced by the news. Trade restrictions and a lack of capital flows is one of the difficulties in promoting price uptrend.
