The market is quiet during the last week of this year. CCSE electronic prices rose cautiously in recent days. Active March Raw Silk closed 173100 yuan, 1800 yuan above last weekend. March Dried Cocoon rose by 900 yuan per ton above last Friday to close 54500 yuan.
2007 price fluctuation in cocoon and silk still wide, but much narrower than previous years. This year raw silk price touched highest 200,000 yuan in May and lowest 165000 yuan in early November and in the last two months fluctuated around 170000 yuan. Now the market is in a dilemma. Trading willing and policy will be the market makers, if there are any, over the next few weeks.
