Daily Chat for September Raw Silk Unit: Yuan per ton

This week CCSE electronic market continued to fall. March Raw Silk dropped by 3000 yuan to 196370 yuan per ton and September Raw Silk dropped by 2400 yuan to 186680 yuan. March Dried Cocoon closed 64200 yuan, down by 2000 yuan per ton. And September Dried Cocoon closed 58680 yuan, down 1400 yuan per ton.
This week statistics on China’s sericulture production 2006 from the agricultural sector was released. The statistics said the silkworm cocoon output is 18.6 percent higher than 2005 to 720, 000 tons. On Friday, China National Cocoon & Silk Coordination Office again released special warning on the price plummet after the electronic market touched new lows. The Coordination Office said it would tighten the control to ensure a good market environment.
On CCSE spot market, the situation of cocoon and silk stockpiles was still pessimistic.
