Based on the price slump two weeks before, CCSE electronic prices corrected and stepped down further. Some buyers are forced to liquidate their contracts while some sellers took profit, which led to the decreased anticipated delivery volume. Meantime some fund were more interested in back months. On Friday we saw a bounce in electronic prices.
Raw silk price around 230,000 yuan per ton is highly controversial. Whether the bounce will last or not depend on the governmental activities and the inflow of fresh buying fund in the coming weeks. As for the silk fabric anti-dumping findings, although lower than the preliminary finding for dumping margin, it got so-so reaction from some Chinese traders but Indian traders kept optimistic toward the news.
On CCSE physical market, price instability led to intensified competition,a loss of market confidence as well as of volume. The market was quiet. Relatively poor buying interest lay the ground for the correction of cocoon and silk prices on CCSE.
