In CCSE spot market, raw silk quotations were much weaker than the previous week with a lack of news to encourage prices rises whilst lower demand finally forced prices down. Raw silk price dropped about 30000 yuan from the highest 350000 yuan for last week to 315000-320000 yuan per ton at weekend. Spot trading was moderate. And available suppliers were moderate.
In CCSE electronic market, prices of dried cocoon and raw silk contracts for delivery months from June. 2006 to March 2007 succumbed to heavy selling pressure and prices fell sharply as a result.
The key Sept. raw silk contract lost 9000 yuan to close as 255500 yuan per ton whilst the Sept. dried cocoon contract eased 3000 yuan to 76800 yuan per ton. And commodities have been struggling to rally at the end of the week.
