This week spot prices still climbed higher as a result of lack of supply. Dried cocoon price was more rapidly increasing. Raw silk graded 3A has broken through 320000 yuan per ton. And most silk fabric prices rose by about 0.5 yuan per meter higher than last week.
On Hongkong Silk Spring Fair from Feb. 20-22, most importers kept sideline and watched. There was a gap of about 3-4 US dollars per kg between Chinese exporters and Indian importers, however, raw silk graded 5A and 6A showed well and accepted by some importers at the rate of 40-42 USD per kg.
In CCSE electronic contract market, prices of back months came to a high new level.
