Prices continued to fluctuate at high levels. If the silk materials prices keep rising rampantly, with the supply gap enlarging, prices may go out of control and may even result in a disorderly situation. Industrial insiders suggest the authority to show attitude toward the current situation and next year’s cocoon production. In fact, the price is breaking through the psychological line of defense of most down-stream enterprises.
This year the country’s reeling capacity grows compared to last year, so the cocoon supply appears very tight. The continuous soaring of cocoon prices has put some silk reeling enterprises on the verge of stopping production. Current tight supply of cocoon and high price will inevitably result in blind stimulation of production next year. Market uncertainty has increased, with prices trend becomes unpredictable.
