Electronic market prices in CCSE went up today. Sept. raw silk closed up 2100Yuan at 204800 Yuan. It indicated that traders were not too pessimistic despite of the previous slump. But pressured by the expectation for changes of autumn cocoon harvest situation and silk goods exports, the price movement today was only a recovery and still belonged to consolidation. The talks released on Hohhot meeting also indicated that the government was adopting a cautious stand toward the later market. On the whole, the price moving in August reflected the expectations of the government.

Physically, Guangxi as a province leading the autumn cocoons supplier began to purchase fresh cocoons with the price of about 1020 Yuan or higher per 50kg. It is predicted that the time for purchasing cocoons in Yunnan province is Sept. 5. On the other hand, raw silk prices in Sichuan dropped today but raw silk prices in other producing regions keep stable.
