India Karnataka Silk Industries Corporation Ltd., a Government of Karnataka undertaking, will organise an exhibition-cum-sale of Mysore silk from August 15 to 17 at Hotel Avenue Regent here. A discount of 20 per cent will be offered.
The company has obtained Geographical Indication Registration for Mysore silk in accordance with the provisions of the Geographical Indication of Goods (Registration and Protection) Act, 1999. The Mysore silk is made of natural silk yarn obtained from cocoons reared in Mysore, Karnataka. The designs are a blend of tradition and modernity, a press release said.
