A Thai silk fair with the royal granted ‘peacock’ brand was held during the weekend at Central Festival in Phuket. Arranged by the Ministry of Agriculture and Cooperatives, the fair aimed at promoting Thai silk and the ‘Peacock Brand’ which certifies premium quality among producers and consumers. Presiding over the opening ceremony, the Permanent Secretary for Agriculture and Cooperative Ministry Ban-pote Hong-thong said he is confident that the 2 day event will stimulate competitiveness among producers in terms of quality which ultimately will lead to international recognition. The exhibition featured HM the Queen’s initiatives and support in promoting Thai silk while fashion shows by the country’s leading models wearing impressive Thai Silk were also staged.
