Kolkata based Eastern Silk Industries Limted has a list of activities, which include manufacture of silk yarn, home furnishings, fashion and handloom fabrics, embroidered fabrics among others.
The company has seen net profit around 68.4 percent after taxation to Rs1,840.08 million for the quarter ended December 31, 2006 as compared to Rs1,092.89 million for the quarter ended December 31, 2005.
The net sale of the company increased by 5.3 percent to Rs12,514.44 million as compared with Rs11,887.55 million for the quarter ended December 31, 2005.
Eastern silk’s gross income increased by 8 percent to Rs12,864.96 million as compared with Rs11,914.87 million for the quarter ended December 31, 2005.
