According to Statistics from Chongqing Foreign Trade & Economic Relations Commission, the region’s spring cocoon purchase work has finished till June 30th.
According to relative statistics, the region distributes 298853 boxes of spring silkworm eggs, up by 0.6 percent over same period last year; spring silkworm cocoon output is 9627 tons, down by 7.3 percent compared to same period last year; crop yield per box is 32.2 kg, down by 8 percent compared to last spring; cocoon purchase enterprises with legal purchase qualification purchase 7588 tons, down by 9.69 percent compared to last spring; Average purchasing price is 773.29 yuan per 50kg, 10.86 percent below last spring levels; Silkworm raisers earning reaches 0.1489 billion yuan, down by 17.6 percent compared to same period last year.
