In Huzhou of China’s east traditional production areas, fresh cocoons have been purchased from Sept. 27.

According to statistics, the autumn silkworm seeds raised by Huzhou’s farmers totaled over 108700 pieces, almost same as last year. But the final output level per piece as well as cocoon quality differed much as a result of raisers’ technology difference when facing the consecutive high temperature during the silkworm growing period.

As for price, the benchmark price ranged between 1000 yuan and 1030 yuan per 50kg. Moreover, the price of lower quality fresh cocoons is below 1000 yuan per 50kg.
