Source from Yangchun Agricultural Bureau said that Yangchun county of Guangdong Province was named Sericulture Town of China by State Cash Trees Association on Dec. 30,2005.
Till now, area of farmland under mulberry of Yangchun county has reached 138529 mus and annual cocoon output 27700 tons. The total output value of the sericulture sector has totaled 0.5 billion yuan and accounted for 11.9 pct share of total gross output value of agriculture of Yangchun county. Yangchun keeps No. 1 for consecutive years in Guangdong province.
