The mid-autumn silkworm seed distribution has been completed in Huzhou, which is Zhejiang’s main cocoon-producing region. The distribution work began from Aug. 31 and ended at Sept. 2. According to primary statistics, the distributed mid-autumn silkworm seed volume have rose 171 pieces to reach 177791 pieces, almost the same level as the same period of last year. About 199000 silkworm peasants have begun raising silkworms.
In general, there are three seasons to raise silkworms in Jiangsu and Zhejiang area in a year. Currently, the autumn climate is suitable for silkworm growing.
